    About the Experience

Comments: I was referred to Mr Kutty by another orthopaedic specialist when he could do no more for me. I was a breech birth resulting in a hip dislocation. I had been in increasing pain for seven years eventually being referred to the other surgeon when an X-ray showed I had shallow hip sockets, cysts in the bone and areas of wear. The original surgeon said as I was so young (54!) nobody would do a hip replacement for me, he simply gave me an ultrasound guided injection which gave me approximately four weeks of pain relief until I was back to square one and literally at my wits end. He said he would refer me on to Mr Kutty to see if he would perform an arthroscopy as he didn’t do them, this turned out to be the best thing that could have happened, from the moment I met him I felt for the first time in years that there may be light at the end of the tunnel. He studied an MRI I had done a few months previously then performed a series of X rays (something the other surgeon did not do nor even view earlier ones I’d had done) he knew straight away an arthroscopy was pointless as it was clear comparing my X Ray to that of somebody with “normal” hips that a hip replacement was the only option. I went in for surgery ten days later being discharged on the day the country went into the first lockdown, despite this my follow up consultations and physio appointments still took place. I can’t put into words the difference this surgery has made to my life as I had reached the point where I was beginning to believe I would end up in a wheelchair as my hip pain was so severe but couldn’t seem to access the help I needed. Mr Kutty is a fantastic surgeon but also an incredibly nice man, as borne out by the amount of compliments made about him when staff saw who my surgeon was. I cannot recommend this man highly enough
